Parks Department furlough days

posted Feb 19, 2010 9:02 AM by SCKC Webmaster   [ updated Feb 19, 2010 9:06 AM ]

City budget cuts have resulted in furlough days for Park Department staff.  While SCKC members have key access 24 hours/day and while a dispensation is being requested to allow our use on those days, the club Board is asking that SCKC members honor the sacrifice that the staff is making by not using the facilities on the furlough days.  This avoids the need for a staff member to come in, if an emergency should occur.  Furlough days will be the following Fridays:

Jan. 15

Feb. 12

Mar. 12

Apr. 9

May 7 & 28

Sept. 10

Oct. 8

Nov. 12

OTHER INFO:

Back by popular demand we will be having a white elephant gift exchange for the athletes, siblings, and kids of the SCKC (or anyone else who loves feeling like a kid).   If you're interested in the gift exchange, here are the things you need to know.

You need to bring a gift to the holiday party, anything would be fine just as long as it costs less than $15!

The exchange will be athlete organized and athlete driven so come prepared for some of the most entertaining madness ever.  The idea is to bring funny ones, so you can look through old gifts, make a gift or buy one (for less than $15).  Some of the examples we had last year were a dancing chipmunk, 5 pound can of tuna, etc.
