2012 US Sprint National Championships

The Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club (SCKC) is pleased to host the 2012 USA CANOE KAYAK Sprint National Championships and the Masters Sprint National Championships, August 23rd through 26th, at the Green Lake Small Craft Center (GLSCC), in Seattle, Washington. The GLSCC is located at the Southwest corner of beautiful Green Lake, in North Seattle. Green Lake is a popular recreation area totally surrounded by parkland.

Site Map and Team Setup

The Seattle Canoe Club will be officially opening up the Park for “Team Setup” at 8:00am  Tuesday August 21st at the Green Lake Small Craft Center.  Set up in designated grass areas is permitted before this time at teams own risk.  If space is available, we may have limited TS at the South end of the Regatta Villa lot.  All trailers and RV’s will need to be parked in the designated Trailer Parking area.  Limited security will be on sight each evening, but it is highly recommended that teams take extra precautions on closing up tent areas each night.  We are not responsible for  lost or stolen equipment but will have some security folks on Tuesday through Saturday night.  If you have any questions on the venue please feel free to give Jason Frisk at call at 206-684-4074.

Register Online

First, e-mail the regatta secretary, Phillip Murphy to obtain a registration username and login.
Your e-mail should include the following information:
  1. Coach's full name
  2. Coach's club's full name
  3. Coach's preferred short name for your club (for instance, SCKC for Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club)
  4. Coach's preferred e-mail address

You will get a response within 48 hours. Once you have a registration username and login, you can register online at:

Nationals (deadline August 2nd) Masters (deadline August 9th)
Paracanoe (deadline August 9th)

Schedule of Events

  • The 2012 USA C/K Sprint National Championships is open to International Athletes.
  • All US participants in the USA C/K Sprint National Championships must be a current registered member of USA C/K on July 1, 2012. Club membership will be determined my athletes listed on the USA C/K roster on July 1, 2012. 
  • Nominal entries shall be due no later than August 2, 2012. 
  • Entries will be submitted by teams via an online entry system. A notification will be made on the USA C/K website when the online system becomes active.
  • A virtual scratch meeting will take place at 4PM PDT on  August 15, 2012.  Call in details have been sent to coaches.

The regatta will take place at the Green Lake Small Craft Center http://www.seattle.gov/parks/boats/grnlake.htm located at the south end of Green Lake in Seattle Washington.

Directions to the venue: From I-5 (north or south):

• take exit #169, 45th/50th Street exits
• turn West
• Stay on 50th to Stone Way/Green Lake Way.
• Turn right and go 1/4 mile
• veer left onto W. Green Lake Way N
• The facility is 1/4 mile on the right, next to the historic Aqua Theater.

There will be ample free parking available.

Awards Banquet

The Awards Banquet will be held in the evening on Saturday August 25th. The venue will be the South Seattle Community College http://www.southseattle.edu. Attendees will be able to sign up when they register for the regatta.
